Midweek Update 2/24/16

This past weekend we picked up some material to build her crib with! (yayayay) I’m super excited to get her room ready. I’m 24 weeks now, sixteen more weeks and she will be here. I want everything to be as close to perfect as I can get it for her! I never really thought I’d be this particular about these things, then again I never thought about how I would be bringing home my child for the first time until now.
My belly continues to grow and she’s moving a lot now. Sometimes it’s uncomfortable (that’s when I put my sweats on and all is good)  I love that I look pregnant now and not just the weird in-between stage. I am only in maternity jeans, leggings, or dresses now. Jake feels her too. I’m sure he doesn’t feel her as much as I think he does. But it is still the best thing ever. Every night I still grab his hand to feel her moving. It still makes me smile as much as it did the first time he felt her.
I finished her bumpers this past weekend also. Now I just have the huge bows that tie them to her crib, dust ruffle, curtains, and a blanket. I need to get on all this! We have our maternity pictures at the beginning of April so I want her room to be finished so we can take pictures in it. 🙂 I’m also looking for a chandelier.
I also get tired really easily. Last week I started working out in the morning more and by Thursday I was asleep at 8. I’m sure Jake is like um… what in the world? ha! I’m not super full of energy 24/7 pre pregnancy but this is definitely different. Everyone keeps telling me to get rest now because you won’t when she gets here and I am terrified! I do not do well on little sleep. I guess that’s when you pray a lot and somehow God gives you these mother powers and you make it. Right? haha
My back has been hurting lately. I’m assuming it’s because I have this belly that is throwing it off. I tried a prenatal massage on Tuesday…. I wasn’t impressed. I had to lay on my back on a cheese wedge and put a pillow under my knees. My back never got touched. It did feel good, I’m not trying to bad mouth. But, it just wasn’t what I expected. I don’t know why but I thought they would have a hole in the bed, like for your face, but for your belly haha. Or maybe lay on our sides to get to our back. Anyways… I think I will order one of those pregnancy pillows soon. Until then I have been sleeping with a long pillow in between my legs and that has helped.
I hope everyone has a great week. Thanks for reading.

Midweek Update 2/17/16

I hope everyone had a good Valentine’s Day. We spent our weekend in North Padre, with family, visiting Jake’s grandparents. It was really nice, the beaches were a lot prettier than I expected. No seaweed and the sand was pretty. It was surprisingly warm as well. I wore shorts one day! In February! One word… TEXAS! Jake’s grandparents just moved there so we wanted to see their place as well. They are right on the ocean so it is really pretty to wake up to a sunrise on the beach.
I’m 23 weeks pregnant today..119 days until she’s here, but who’s counting. 🙂 On our way back from the coast we stopped by the San Marcos outlets and I got her a chambray dress, bow to match, and a Columbia zip up. (my heart) I love little clothes! I can’t wait to play dress up with her when she gets here.
I think I experienced my first heartburn yesterday. That wasn’t pleasant. Basically I felt like I could breath and flames would come out of my mouth. My chest and throat were on fire. Someone told me that means she has a lot of hair. So maybe she has some… maybe, I was bald and Jake had little. So I doubt she gets her first braid until she’s like three ha! But we can hope. I also wonder if she will even let me braid her hair. Will she like it or will she be a tom boy. I feel like because we thought she was a boy for sooo long maybe she is a tom boy.
It’s the weirdest thing to wonder what your child will be like. You really have no idea… you and your husband combined to make a tiny little human and will they be anything like either of you or be their very own little person… hopefully a little of both!
I’ve still been researching car seats and strollers and wondering if I am registering for all the right things. Each item has like 200 million different brands and items, it’s sooo overwhelming. Even when  a lot of my friends and clients already have babies and a lot of them have different ones. But so far the most I’ve heard about is the Peg Perego, Britax, and Uppa Baby.. so it’s in between those for the seat. I’m looking at jogging strollers since once she gets here I will have to cancel my gym membership and work out from home. So I registered for the Bob Revolution and Graco Relay. Has anyone heard anything good or bad about those? Or, does anyone else have a jogging stroller that they love? I also want to be able to use it for everyday things also.
We also found a nanny for her and I am so relieved. It is a friend and a good family friend that I will feel soo comfortable with. I think she’s as anal with her kids as I will be with mine, so that’s good! We will probably put her in a daycare when she’s older but for her tiny years I just prefer one on one. (When else do you get that kind of care?)
The compression hose I ordered from Amazon were way too small. I know they are supposed to be tight buy my knee felt like it could buckle and they were SO HARD to get on. Jake and I were laughing so hard! So I guess I need a bigger pair haha. I’m looking into Jobst and will review them once they are in for future preggers.
Have a great week!

Midweek Update 2/10/16

I’m 22 weeks today! Only 18 more weeks until she is here, wow!
Last weekend we threw a baby shower for a friend, that was fun. Jake worked on his truck so we can sell it. It’s almost done! Then we can start the fence for the dogs. I am working on her bedding still, I haven’t gotten far, I’ve only had time on Monday’s and this past Monday was a trying one. 🙁 My external hard drive crashed that has a lot of pics, videos, and work things on it. So we are working on recovering that. If anyone has had any luck with this before or knows someone that can please let me know!
We are also searching for a Tuesday and Thursday nanny or looking for a good daycare. This makes me so so so nervous! I had a bad dream about it last night :(. Which means I am stressing over it. If anyone loves newborns and needs a Tuesday/Thursday job send me an email!
I didn’t get a tutorial out this past Sunday and I am sorry. I was really busy last week and this week isn’t much better. We are going to the coast this weekend for a family weekend trip to see Jake’s grandparents. I’m excited for our small getaway. 🙂 But I had to cram all my clients into this week so that makes for longer days.
I am getting varicose veins on my lower leg already :/  so I ordered some compression tights. I hope they are not hot! I’m already hot natured (or I just sweat a lot haha). I also ordered some New Balance shoes to help with feet/leg pain. I’m only 22 weeks I can’t imagine how it will be when I gain more. I’ve gained 10-12 pounds so far. So seeing those numbers on the scale is pretty scary haha. But it’s normal and a beautiful thing , I know ha, so don’t worry right?! Easier said! I’m trying to stay active on  my days off and trying to run/walk is getting harder. I’m having cramps in my lower stomach that are pretty crazy so half the time I am running and then walking with a hunch back because I have to hunch over.
Other than the cramps and tiredness I’m still loving and having a great pregnancy!
I got most of my registering done. I’m looking into these strollers… so if you have any advice I’d love to hear.
1. Baby Jogger City Mini GT Single Stroller
2. Graco Relay Click Connect Performance Jogging Stroller
One that is good to jog with and lightweight so I can use it elsewhere as well. (Like errands)
I also got my first set of kankles this past Saturday haha. (that was weird) Being pregnant is sometimes (most of the time) weird. haha but I love it and I can’t wait to see her and hold her!!
I hope you have a great week! Happy Valentine’s day!
